Christine Bleakley

 

 

Christine Bleakley (born 1981 in Newtownards, County Down) is a television presenter known for her work in her native Northern Ireland, hosting a wide variety of shows.

Having started her career as a Floor Manager working behind the scenes she trained whilst studying for her A-Levels and continued to climb the ranks at BBC NI whilst studying for a Politics degree. Her biggest solo series was called Skyhigh which saw her flying around Ireland in a helicopter. A weekly entertainment show called First Stop was soon to follow while big one off shows like, "Would You Pass The 11+" and "Children In Need" allowed her to develop her presenting skills.

Outside of Northern Ireland, she co-hosted the BBC2 talent show "Let Me Entertain You" and since August 2007 she has been the co-host of The One Show.

She also writes a weekly column for the Sunday Life, and is a patron of the "CineMagic" children's film festival. and Northern Ireland ambassador for The Prince's Trust.

She is currently in training for the London Marathon but a recent foot injury might see her pull out.
