Zoe
was not sure what she was applying for when she answered an anonymous
advert. But, after a series of interviews, she was among the final
few hopefuls. Then, the 24-year-old was asked to record a video
demonstrating her skills with remote-control cars, handling zoo animals
and making Christmas cards. Only after her efforts impressed the
panel was the ex-Miss Northern Ireland, from Bangor, told what the job was

They never asked Valerie Singleton or Lesley Judd to go through all this. But Blue Peter's 30th and newest presenter only clinched the job by carrying out an interview on a trampoline. FORMER Miss Northern Ireland Zoe Salmon is set to follow in the footsteps of some of TV’s most famous names — as the latest presenter of children’s programme Blue Peter.

attractive blonde from Bangor, Northern Ireland, is pictured in the Times
bouncing on a trampoline while conducting an interview, "but the BBC
denied that it was trying to 'sex up' the programme and boost ratings in
the competitive children's marketplace." Their lame excuse it that
she's following on from Leila Williams, the first Blue Peter presenter,
who was crowned Miss Great Britain in 1957 The popular BBC show has in the past launched the careers of presenters such as John Noakes, Peter Purves, Anthea Turner, Yvette Fielding, Richard Bacon and the late Caron Keating. Zoe’s first on-screen appearance will be in a Christmas special on December 23.
